Superbly crafted Jamacoaque pectoral mask depicting a shaman in final transformation, possibly into a dragon or other. Nicely detailed with crisply incised teeth, horns on the forehead and excellent paint throughout. Choice condition. Pepper tree bark (yellow) and ochre (green,red) used for coloring. Manabi region, Ecuador. 300 BC - 400 AD. Measures 3 1/2". Comes mounted on a stand.
